WE ARE CACTUS CINE

Cactus Cine is a group of filmmakers who, from a very young age, have taken their short films to important festivals all around the world (Berlin, Havana, Montreal, Rome). They have made a job out of their obsession, and created a company that makes content as well as comprehensive productions in film, commercials and television.

Nicolas Carreras

An interest in the issues around narration, experience in working with actors, and a constant concern for representation, are the elements that have given him an outstandingly original style. The limits between fiction and documentary are crossed, but the warmth and intimacy in his characters always prevail. This stamp has pervaded each of Cactus’ films, and has taken the company to the greatest film festivals in the world.

Sebastian Carreras

Through fiction, he has investigated the power of short stories, an area in which he soon received international recognition. With full-length documentaries, he developed a devotional respect for the art of editing. From then on, he returned to directing, where he devleoped a way to register with great sensitivity, to depict different cultures of the world. Today, this frames Cactus Cine as a company with solid experience in documentaries in both film and television.

MAURICIO ALBORNOZ I.

His musical knowledge, along with his vast experience in the audiovisual medium in almost every area, helped him to develop a rhythmic conception of narration in film, which he has applied in directing, editing, and screenwriting. Along his years of work, he has managed to institute a clear dynamic musical style that makes any Cactus Cine production recognizable by its visual and narrative strength.

AGUSTIN VIDAL

Thanks to his plastic vision for images and his passion for optical illusions, he has acquired great technical and narrative capacity for different technical narratives. He is a director at Cactus Cine, and has led documentary series and publicity campaigns with a strong stylistic imprint. He has also specialized in the study of new technologies, formats and video workflows between softwares. He founded the animation and postproduction department at Cactus Cine, where he stands out as a director, photographer, colorist and 2D and 3D animator.
