WE ARE CACTUS CINE SEE THE LEGEND

Cactus Cine is a group of filmmakers that travelled the world in their youth with short films and won awards at important festivals like Berlinale, Havana, Montreal and Rome. As a result, they have turned their obsession into their jobs by creating a comprehensive production house. Cactus has worked for NATGEO, ESPN, History Channel Latin America, Al Jazeera, Argentinian Public TV and Red Bull Austria. Their products had been sold in several markets such as Asia, Europe and America. Their last movie Sangre en la boca (Tiger) was sold to Netflix Worldwide in March 2018.

And TV showed up to stay to this very day. They grew up in its frenzy and it allowed them to create a structure of people prepared to respond under any circumstance while maintaining their quality and style. They provide services and formats for various public and private broadcasting television signals. From this foundation they spiraled up towards cinema: they made their own movies. And it rewarded us again. They won the Mar del Plata International Film Festival, went to Berlin, Warsaw, San Sebastian, London, Amsterdam, Napa Valley...

They have a natural creative calling, with a large capacity for production. With 15 years of undisputed aesthetic quality work and high professional consistency, they continue to grow as the most beautiful desert plant does, protecting the water of creativity with the hard thorns of rigorous work, because every film deserves it. But above all, because any idea set into motion
deserves it.

A genuine interest for the narrative, a great deal of experience in working with actors and a constant concern for representationhas given him a style of remarkable originality. Warmth and intimacy always seem to prevail amongst his characters even while crossing borders between documentaries and fiction. This standard is present throughout all of Cactus' films and is one of the trademarks which has taken our Production House to the Greatest Movie Festivals of the World.

Through fiction he investigated the power of short story where he soon earned international acclaim. With feature documentaries he developed a devotional respect for the Art of Montage and has since returned to directing where he has managed to portray different world cultures with extraordinary sensitivity. This has distinguished Cactus Cine from other production companies as one with solid experience in both Documentary Film and Television.

His musical knowledge, added to a vast experience in almost every audiovisual department, has led him to develop a rhythmic conception of cinematographic narration which he has magnificently applied to his Directing, Editing, and Screenwriting. In recent years, his music has provided Cactus Cine productions with a clear dynamic musical watermark which has made our productions recognizable by virtue of their visual and narrative power.

Thanks to an exquisite artistic treatment of the image and a sophisticated enjoyment for optical illusions he has managed to acquire a great technical and narrative ability for animation in all of its forms. In addition, he has specialized in the study of new technologies, formats and video work flow which he then has combined with different software to create unique productions. With Agu’s help we recently launched the Animation and Postproduction Department at Cactus Cine where he has not only excelled as a 2D and 3D Animator but also as a Director, Cinematographer and Colorist.
