A story of unrestrained love in a social and political context not
very much explored: the core of a military family at the begin-
ning of the Falklands War.
Pedro is nineteen years old and, unlike the men in his family, he didn’t
choose the military as a career but the School of Philosophy and Litera-
ture. Nevertheless, the year 1982 goes by and his shelter in reading is
shaken by the disembarkment of the Argentinian troops in the
Falklands: his father, Lieutenant Colonel Augusto Vidal (aged 45), is
leading the battle.
Although Buenos Aires is far, the war rarefies it all. The holding pattern
experienced in his house brings him closer to Fátima (aged 30), his
stepmother. Between them, arises an unknown and uncontrollable
desire, a love with the devastating strength of freedom.
